I’d probably find a suitable period accurate radio. Otherwise, is good as is.
Someone will probably buy it and turn it into a slammed drift machine with a EJ257 out back.

that thing looks killer. I thought these were all 40-50k cars now? I know next to nothing about Porsche 911 values. only things I would fix are the headlight surrounds and the wrinkly bumper weather stripping in the front. otherwise it is awesome and those wheels are money

That’s not a factory body kit, it was converted by some shop in Florida, and has no paperwork to back up the work. My father was interested in the car, but the owner stopped responding when asked for paperwork/proof of provenance
Edit: note, it’s been for sale for over a month

Agreed on the radio... but please God no.

Well, I would personally take a paint depth gauge and test all areas possibly affected by the modifications. If it starts showing a ton of body filler, then it’s a crap job. If it shows one or two layers worth of paint, much less concerning. What’s it like underneath? Did the sellers “no rust” promise hold water?

I’m going to pretend I didn’t see Ubel’s post, and say;
1) Probably touch up/redo the paint, extremely professionally though. God, I’d just want to have someone take it apart and repaint it completely and...no, I need to calm down.
2) Radio. Definitely replace.
3) Not digging the wheels. Not sure what I would do, but I’d go with black wheels.

For us it was more a question of value, and 27500 is a pretty damn big ask for a 78 SC with an aftermarket body kit. He does claim it used actual 930 parts, but he stopped responding to emails when asked for any paperwork to back that up. We never actually made it out to look at the car, so can’t comment on the rust.

Throw some BBS wheels on that and its pretty much my ideal vintage Porsche. Not crazy about the current wheels. They look like knockoffs from the Ferrari F40

Can I please put good looking wheels on it?

I think those wheels are gorgeous. So no. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder though...

fifteen52 forged 2 piece Outlaw 001 - made in partnership with Magnus Walker. While I dig the wheels he has on there now, the outlaws are the only ones I would consider as replacement.

I would stick with period correct aftermarket wheels, but those are tacky and look like a 90s Camaro

I see much more F40 going on than Camaro. Maybe I’ve had more beer.

Well, there they are. I was searching for similar wheel to the various ones used at Le Mans, but I’ll go with these for sure.

No you’re right... They just look so bad on the Porsche they might as well be from a Camaro I guess.... They are just terrible!
